The UChicago Urban Doctoral Fellows program offers a yearlong writing and professionalization experience for up to ten University of Chicago doctoral students whose research focuses on urban issues. Students may come from any department or School at the University of Chicago; they may also be in any year of their PhD. To be eligible for the program and the travel stipend, students must attend all meetings of the Fellows.
- Fellows meet in 16 weekday sessions, for 90 minutes, throughout the academic year, beginning at the start of the 2017 Autumn Quarter.
- Fellow meetings are facilitated by Stephen Baker, with the active participation of the fellows. Lunch is provided.
- UChicago Urban provides up to $1000 in financial reimbursement for travel costs associated with presenting a paper developed through the UChicago Urban Doctoral Fellows program at a national conference. International presenters may request additional financial support to cover their travel expenses.
